“Endor” is set after the final film of the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy, “Revenge of the Sith”.

At this point in the story, the Sith, an evil power-hungry group of space wizards, have formed a galactic empire.

The leaders of the Empire, Darth Sidious and Darth Vader, have taken over the universe, killing their political opponents and wiping out their supernatural rivals, the Jedi.

Fans of “Star Wars” know that ultimately, in the original trilogy, the Rebel Alliance is formed to defeat the Empire.

However, “Endor” sits between the two trilogies and will show how Rebellion builds up.

Cassian Endor is a spy for the Rebel Alliance, which is still forming at this point.

Diego Luna plays the titular character in the series called Cassian Andor.

The character was first introduced as a spy for the Rebel Alliance in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”.

Along with a ragtag group of rebels, including the film’s lead Jin Erso (Felicity Jones), he leads a suicide mission on the planet Scarif to obtain plans for a secret Empire weapon.

That weapon turned out to be the Death Star, which was first introduced in the original trilogy.

“Endor” is set before “Rogue One”, as the character dies in that film, and will show how the character joined the rebellion and how he meets his allies such as his fan- Favorite sidekick droid, K-2SO (Alan Tudyk).

“Endor” is a more grounded story than the previous “Star Wars” series.

“Rogue One” was praised at the time of its release for its grounded story within the “Star Wars” universe.

Unlike the previous films, it did not revolve around the Jedi and presented the story instead focusing on the particular group of individuals that everyone had a role to play in the rebellion.

According to new series reviewThe premise of “Andor” appears to be “Rogue One”.

Mon Mothma is a key figure in the rebel coalition.

Mon Mothma first appeared in “Return of the Jedi” (played by Caroline Blackiston) as the Chancellor of the Rebel Alliance, which leads the final assault against the Empire.

The character was to make another appearance in the prequel film “Revenge of the Sith”, played by Genevieve O’Reilly, but the scene was later cut.

However, O’Reilly got a second chance to play the character in “Rogue One”.

“Rogue One” depicts Mothma after being chosen as the leader of the Rebel Alliance and trying to stop Scariff’s mission at the end of the film.

“Endor” will show what Mothma was like before becoming the leader of the rebellion as a double agent within the Empire’s capital, Coruscant. There he worked as a senator trying to gain access to the secrets of the Empire.

We’ve seen Saw Gerrera in “Rogue One” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.”

The “Endor” trailers also featured another “Star Wars” legacy character, Saw Gerrera.

The Onderonian rebel was first introduced in the series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, where he is fighting in a civil war on his home planet to free his people from the Separatists led by the Sith leader, Count Dooku.

During his mission, Gerrera worked with the Republic, a democratic galactic organization that was later corrupted by the Sith to form an empire. When Gerrera makes his live-action debut (played by Forrest Whitaker), he is a terrorist leader set to counter the Empire’s New Testament.

He was also killed by the Death Star in “Rogue One,” but the new “Star Wars” series will show how his tactics led to a split between the militant and peaceful sides of the rebellion.

“Endor” will be set in the same time period as “Star Wars Rebels.”

“Endor” is not the first “Star Wars” series to be set at the beginning of the rebellion.

The animated series “Star Wars Rebels” begins in the universe’s timeline in 5BBY, the same year that “Endor” begins.

The hit series centered on a group of rebellious people who eventually join a widespread rebellion against the Empire. Mothma also appears in season three when she is on the run from the Empire because of her association with the Rebellion.

“Endor” may feature key elements of the “Rebels” story in live action, such as Mothma’s escape from the Empire or the involvement of Vader’s former apprentice Ahsoka in the rebellion.

“Endor” premieres Wednesday with three episodes on Disney+.
